  1. in the same directory as the active LANTRAN.LOG (this can be specified by the /I: parameter to the LANMSGDD.OS2 device driver in CONFIG.SYS) 
  2. in \IBMCOM on the current OS/2 boot drive
  3. in C:\IBMCOM
These will most often resolve to the same directory (C:\IBMCOM), however this is not always true.  The first instance of this file that is found will be the one used.

Note: the NTRDIAG will incorrectly report an error if it does not find NTR.MSG in the same directory as LANTRAN.LOG.  This limitation will be removed in a future release.
